W/Audi considers the timing chains on the 2.0t to be a lifetime item, that doesn't need to be replaced. However, enthusiasts tend to know a little better. The first questioned asked when looking for a 2.0t car for sale is “Do you know when the chains were done?” Any VW/Audi owner knows that if the chains are not maintained and timing service done, headaches can be expected in the future.
With no service interval to go by, you need to pay attention to the chains. The first symptom is noise in the timing system. The chains slap around because of worn tensioners and guides. The common sound is “marbles in a can.” Failed guides can cause the chains to jump, skip a tooth and potentially snap. Because the 2.0t is an interference motor, a snapped chain or one that has jumped a tooth means that valves can contact the pistons and cause catastrophic engine failure.
The experts at ECS Tuning have assembled a kit for you to take care of this common problem.
* This kit is designed for the TSI engine only. This can easily be found on the engine cover of your 2.0T. It will clearly be stamped TSI.

We update our catalog daily to provide the most accurate fitment information possible. When shopping for parts, please use the “select your vehicle” car selector on the home page. Once you've selected your car, you can filter parts specific to it.
Additionally, on each product page, we have a tab for fitment information. By clicking on "Fitment", you can scroll and verify the part you are about to add to your cart indeed fits.
Furthermore, if you have a vehicle added to our vehicle selector and you are viewing a product page, you'll see fitment information below the "add to cart" button. If an item fits your car it will display "This Part Fits Your: Selected Vehicule". If an item does not fit your vehicle a message will display "This Part Does Not Fit".
A “Core Charge” is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda. In many states, to promote recycling, you are charged a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and you receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have Core Charges that work the same way as a soda can deposit. The most common car parts that include a core charge are alternators, calipers, steering racks, and fuel injectors.
"MAP" pricing, or Minimum Advertised Pricing, means that the vendor set a minimum retail price that we're not allowed to violate. MAP items cannot be discounted because the decrease in price would violate that threshold.
