From the factory, the 2.9 TFSI's twin turbochargers are fed by a mandrel-bent, crushed steel inlet pipe. Despite boasting an impressive 444 HP, the factory inlet pipe is a bottleneck. In short, the factory design reduces available airflow to the turbochargers, decreasing overall performance potential and available horsepower. Our engineers set out to mitigate this bottleneck with an all-new, high-flowing, divorced inlet design that offers maximum airflow while retaining stock-like fitment. By utilizing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software, high-quality carbon fiber and billet aluminum construction, modular components, and maximizing available underhood space, our engineers have created the ultimate turbo inlet upgrade for your B9 RS5!
Our design features a beautiful 2x2 twill weave carbon fiber tube, finished in a high gloss clear coat for added resilience and enhanced appearance. By incorporating carbon fiber construction rather than the industry standard cast aluminum or fabricated steel, our engineers were able to decrease inlet weight by over 60%. The carbon fiber inlet pipe adapts using two billet aluminum flanges with pre-installed captive o-rings, precision-machined for a seamless fit.
The ECS Carbon Fiber Turbo Inlet Pipe is modular by design. Two different silicone coupler selections allow for compatibility with both the factory air box assembly and the ECS Luft-Technik Performance Intake System (ES#4213158). This allows for perfect fitment with either intake selection and ensures compatibility in the event of an upgrade, or when reverting your car to the factory air box.
To maximize airflow, we elected to incorporate a divorced inlet design by adding a central vein inside the inlet assembly. Unlike the industry standard non-divorced design, this ensures both turbochargers receive the same amount of airflow. To realize the performance potential of this design, our engineers utilized Computation Fluid Dynamics software to calculate the difference in flow between the two inlets on a non-divorced inlet. Their research revealed poor performance from the non-divorced style inlet, showing a 50% difference in airflow to each turbocharger. By contrast, our divorced-style inlet reduced this difference to just 24%. In short, a non-divorced style inlet is not optimized for even distribution of airflow. The ECS Carbon Fiber Turbo Inlet Pipe is the superior choice for enthusiasts in search of maximum airflow and reduced restriction.

We update our catalog daily to provide the most accurate fitment information possible. When shopping for parts, please use the “select your vehicle” car selector on the home page. Once you've selected your car, you can filter parts specific to it.
Additionally, on each product page, we have a tab for fitment information. By clicking on "Fitment", you can scroll and verify the part you are about to add to your cart indeed fits.
Furthermore, if you have a vehicle added to our vehicle selector and you are viewing a product page, you'll see fitment information below the "add to cart" button. If an item fits your car it will display "This Part Fits Your: Selected Vehicule". If an item does not fit your vehicle a message will display "This Part Does Not Fit".
A “Core Charge” is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda. In many states, to promote recycling, you are charged a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and you receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have Core Charges that work the same way as a soda can deposit. The most common car parts that include a core charge are alternators, calipers, steering racks, and fuel injectors.
"MAP" pricing, or Minimum Advertised Pricing, means that the vendor set a minimum retail price that we're not allowed to violate. MAP items cannot be discounted because the decrease in price would violate that threshold.
